Denton High Cares presents the Fourth Annual Carrico/Collins Memorial Weekend

Coach Bill Carrico and Coach C.H. Collins are remembered by generations of Denton Broncos as two of the individuals who were most instrumental in leading the successful integration of Denton High School in 1968. They set an example for the community in building a friendship that strengthened to brotherhood as they led Denton High School’s most successful football team in 43 years, which won the bi-district championship in 1972. After football, they became successful and beloved school administrators until their retirements: Coach Carrico as Denton ISD Athletic Director and Coach Collins as Denton High School Dean of Men. Separately, they are memorialized by the beautiful Denton ISD athletic facilities that bear their names.

Fifty years after their great championship year, the Denton High School Family Assistance Foundation (“Denton High Cares”) is proud to present the Fourth Annual Carrico/Collins Memorial Golf Classic, honoring the memories of these great men, together, just as they were so often linked in life.

On Monday, October 10, 2022, we will gather for a great day of golf at the beautiful Oakmont Country Club. Sign-in will begin at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Lunch will be served beginning at noon, and after the round, we will have a great time at a reception and awards ceremony, with music by the Denton High School Jazz Band and tons of fun, with incredible raffle prizes as well as amazing prizes for the winning golfers.
