This section is a compilation of answers to the questions most commonly asked by our constituents. Just start by following one of the links below. If you can’t find the question you wanted to ask, don’t hesitate to contact us at dentonhighcares@gmail.com.

  1. Denton High Cares is the trade name for the Denton High School Family Assistance Foundation, Inc., a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit Texas charitable corporation formed in August 2014. Our mission is to provide financial or other assistance to members of the Denton High School family (current and former students, faculty, staff, and their families) in times of medical or other crises.

  2. We’re always looking for help from individuals like you wanting to get involved. If you have a great idea or just would like to volunteer at one of our events, email us at dentonhighcares@gmail.com or call (940) 268-4342. You can also sign up at our Facebook Page, https://www.facebook.com/DentonHighCares/.

  3. What do we do with the money we raise?

Members of the Denton High School family who are experiencing financial distress caused by medical or other crises may apply for a grant from the Foundation by completing an application here on our website. Our Grants Committee will review the application and will obtain additional information and supportive documentation from the applicants. The Grants Committee will then make a recommendation to the full Board of Directors, which will vote on whether to award the Grant. Through 2017, the Foundation had awarded 18 grants to deserving members of the Denton High family.

We work very hard to keep our expenses low. Because we have no overhead for salaries or facilities, our expenses are almost entirely associated with promoting and presenting events and maintaining fundraising campaigns. To the greatest extent possible, we try to secure sponsorships from generous donors to pay event expenses. Our goal is to use as much of the proceeds from our fundraisers as possible to fund grants.

As required by law, our IRS Form 990 is available for inspection on request. Just email us at dentonhighcares@gmail.com.

  4. What is your organization's privacy policy?

We do not sell or otherwise disclose information about our volunteers or supporters outside of our immediate organization. This policy has no exceptions. We do not sell or exchange your information with any other organizations, public, private or nonprofit. For more detailed information visit our Privacy Policy page.
